All kids should have access to sport, and the values and skills that sport teaches.

Who is KidSport?

KidSport™ was established by Sport BC in 1993 and is a community based sport charity. Since its inception in British Columbia, KidSport™ has grown to include national and provincial/territorial chapters operating across Canada.

KidSport™ Greater Victoria is a licensed local chapter of KidSport Canada, founded in 2000. Since 2002 KidSport Greater Victoria has been reaching local kids with season-of-sport registration grants.  In that time, we are proud to have reached over 12,600 local kids, who would otherwise be limited to the sidelines, with help.

The KidSport board is a diverse group of passionate volunteers who love to roll up their sleeves and work to ensure we maximize the number of kids we assist and make best use of the donations and support we receive,

Donations of $20+ to KidSport Greater Victoria are tax receiptable, through KidSport Canada’s charitable tax number. Money raised locally is distributed locally. From our organization and the children and families we reach, THANK YOU to our generous partners, sponsors and donors – we couldn’t do what we do without you!

Please celebrate with us in 2020 and beyond, as we continue to support local children and their families, #SoALLKidsCanPlay.

Our Mission

KidSport Greater Victoria enables children experiencing financial need to access the benefits of sport and physical activity.

We believe:

• That no kid should be left on the sidelines.
• Access to organized sport and physical activity fosters essential life skills, contributes to healthier lifestyles and enhances social and community connectedness.

We are proud to work alongside over 175 Victoria and area sports organizations.

To be eligible for KidSport funding the sport organization that the child participates in must be a member of the Provincial Sport System, through current membership with their relevant Provincial Sport Organization. Click here for our current list of local eligible sport organizations.
